The Functional (Systems) Medicine Approach

The Functional (Systems) Medicine Approach

Table of Contents

This video introduces the Functional (Systems) Medicine approach that guides all of my work. It offers a high-level view of why chronic disease has become so widespread, what has actually broken down in modern physiology, and how restoring communication across the body’s systems allows healing to occur naturally.

Rather than chasing symptoms or diagnoses, Functional (Systems) Medicine looks at how the body’s core systems—metabolic, nervous, gut-immune, detoxification, and endocrine—interact as a living network. When these systems lose coherence, self-regulating processes break down and vicious cycles take hold. Symptoms are not the problem; they are signals.

This framework is both modern and ancient. It blends contemporary systems biology with traditional root-and-branch medicine, honoring the body’s innate intelligence rather than overriding it. If you’ve felt like your health concerns don’t fit neatly into a box, this approach may finally help the pieces make sense.
